I’ve been hearing a lot about how people are nervous about this trip. I personally am too excited about this trip to be nervous. Service becomes a bigger part of my identity the more I’m involved in things like this. I don’t think that the whole concept of being the hands and feet of Christ can be expressed more fully than in service. A wise person, and one of my role models quoted these words: “Preach the gospel. When necessary, use words”. I can’t think of a better way to live these words out today.
If I had to really think about being nervous it would probably be concerning all the school work I wont’ be able to do on this trip. Anyone who knows me well knows that I am constantly immersed in my academic life. I suppose this trip will be a beneficial experience because it will allow me to step back from school and look at a different aspect of life. I am looking forward to this experience with a ready heart and mind.
